What do you look for in an email marketing audit?

First and foremost we look for opportunities and quick wins for your business. We’re interested in seeing how you could be getting better deliverability, use segmentation as part of your marketing strategy to see better results, and create more opportunities to drive conversion.

 

How much does an email marketing audit cost?

We price our email marketing audits for each client with a custom proposal. They range from $500 to $1500. It will depend on factors like how many accounts we are auditing, and the complexity of your account. Meaning, if you have 30 Flows it will take us longer to audit cohesively than if you have 5 Flows, for example. It will also depend on your specific pain points, in some cases clients ask us to also look at all their marketing channels or include customer surveys in the audit, which means we’re spending more time.

Our goal in an audit is to provide value that you can use immediately, this isn’t just a one-click automated report presenting what you can already see from a Klaviyo dashboard or Google Analytics dashboard. We take time to listen to you, consider your unique business, identify opportunities, identify segments, and find answers/solutions to your specific pain points, so that we can find you insights you will actually be able to use. 

What kind of access do I have to provide?

To get started with an email marketing audit, we need admin access to your Klaviyo account. And we also request access to your Google Analytics account if you have one. We may agree to review other accounts in tandem (social media, your website) and if so, we’ll need access to those accounts as well.

 

How long does an email marketing audit take?

For a Klaviyo audit, the turnaround time is normally around 2 weeks from the time we’ve received a signed contract and payment. Sometimes it can take longer, if for example clients decide to add in “team-interviews” or “customer-surveys” or additional account reviews as part of their audit. We’ll confirm these details with you before we begin.

 

What does a successful email marketing audit look like?

While each audit is unique to each small business, we consider an email marketing audit successful if we’re able to paint you a picture of goals and opportunities within reach with your email marketing strategy and if we’ve provided you enough information to consider your next best steps. We aim for our audit reports to be thorough and action-oriented. We’re usually able to share some quick wins that can be gained through smaller project work and some longer term goals that we recommend you consider. We’re happy to support your team and work with you to put a strong email marketing plan to work for you!

Our email marketing audit report is a presentation around 20-50+ pages long. It depends on your specific business and what areas we agree to assess and ultimately what we find.

What if I have an in-house team that can do the fixing?

That’s great! We’re happy to share our insights with you for your in-house team to implement if that’s best for your business. Often at the end of an audit we help you identify projects and priorities. If you are equipped to do them in house, we encourage you to do so. If you’re not and would like our teams’ support, we are here to help.

 

I just want someone else to take over our email marketing. Do I need to start with an audit?

And yes, an email marketing audit is where we recommend starting as it provides the insights and information needed to drive an effective email marketing strategy. We’re happy to look at other email marketing tools, and we’re also a Hubspot partner mostly for our B2B clients. The scope of our email marketing audit may differ but strategies and metrics don’t. It will still be insightful and we might help you identify if there’s a case to stay where you are or to migrate to Klaviyo. We’ve helped a number of clients migrate from Mailchimp to Klaviyo for example, to up their email marketing game.

 

Are email marketing audits only for those just getting started? What if we have established marketing automation?
