Team Spotlight: Meet Simranjeet, Our Social Media Coordinator
An interview with Simranjeet, Social Media Coordinator | B2B & eCommerce Industries
Question: Hi, Simranjeet! Tell us about what you do for Centric Squared.
Answer: I manage social media for clients, do research and perform quick audits as a social media coordinator.
Question: What kind of skill set do you have to do this role?
Answer: I’ve worked for 5 years in digital marketing, I specialize in YouTube management and marketing, but have good experience in other social media platforms as well.
Question: What’s something you’d love to share with others about social media?
Answer: I always try to keep my colleagues up-to-date with the industry’s latest updates, so we have better communication on social media goals and provide better results to our clients.
Question: Can you describe the path that led you to Centric Squared?
Answer: Joining Centric Squared as a social media coordinator was the best decision I’ve made in my career to boost my level of productivity. I appreciate learning better ways to collaborate with team members and support each other with a problem-solving attitude.
Question: What’s different about working as a freelancer vs. an agency setting for you?
Answer: While working as a freelancer, I always struggled to find the right client and achieve their goals. But working with an agency is way more satisfying; we work around one timeline, deadline, and goal, and if I have any issue, other team members are always active to help.
Question: What’s a lesson you’ve learned since joining the team?
Answer: Working with the team enables me to pool my ideas, show my creativity and see problems from different perspectives. In a group situation, we can attempt tasks that could not be accomplished by an individual, combining a variety of skills and expertise to tackle more complex and larger-scale problems.
Question: What advice would you give to someone who is interested in becoming a social media coordinator?
Answer: Even more than writing, a social media coordinator should be good at editing and writing short-form copy to adhere to character limits and best caption lengths. It’s a skill in itself to be able to convey a brand message with a call-to-action, snappy and engaging content, all within the limit of characters.
Question: When you’re not working, what are you doing?
Answer: Learning and trying new things! Like, SAAS (software as a service) projects. I think there is a huge gap in the market to capture, and I want to build my own brand as a SAAS business. I think there’s an opportunity to boost and capture the market.
Question: What’s one book on your bookshelf right now?
Answer: Rich Dad, Poor Dad.
